Trail Riding LessonsDancing Sky Ranch, is offering a limited number of Trail riding lessons, this summer.
Learn how to spend a relaxing day or week camping with your horse, and friends. We hope to give others a chance to enjoy the great outdoors, from horseback. And the chance to learn how to camp safely and comfortably, with your horse. There are many tricks to camping and especially with a horse! Impress your friends, and have the experience of a lifetime. What will we teach? We have some simple rules. # #1 The people are always safe (no one gets hurt)
# 2 The horse is safe and does not get hurt # 3 Everyone has fun It is recommended that for first time horse-riders, that you take our riding lessons course before taking the trail-riding course. For your horses safety and yours. Daily lessons pp $ 125 8 hours

The riding lesson consists of introduction to the horse, care, feeding, feet do's and dont's, catching, haltering, how to tie the horse safely, how to fit a bridle, and bridle a horse, fit a saddle and saddle the horse. Yes brushing, the most simple of things needs to be learned properly. All of this training is hands on with a horse. We work in our pens and round pen for the first riding exercises, allowing you to get comfortable with your horse. It is then off to the trails for some light trail riding. Trail riding lessons Our Trail riding lessons begin again with the basics to make sure everyone knows, and is comfortable with the horse they will be riding. If we have experienced riders in the group, we ask they participate in helping the group. After we are comfortable with our horses, we will go to the campsite for some camp set up, lessons. We will spend the first several nights camping at the site, then pack into the vast wilderness for several day & nights adventures. What to bring? Hat with brim, Rain coat /Poncho/slicker, Warm Jacket, Small flashlight, Sun screen, Chaps tick, Heeled riding boots, long sleeved shirt, Denim jeans/cowboy cut, Gloves, Sleeping bag, personal care items We will pack light when we leave the first campsite, but have the option to pack to the second before we leave. The group will decide. What will we learn Caring for your horse on the trail. How to tie, make a picket line, packing, and packs, where to set up your tents, what food to bring , What food is available in the wild, and how to get it. water and how to make it safe, fires, when & how big , cooking over a fire, crossing streams safely, navagation, and maps.
